Parking in the city of Kuala Lumpur is so annoying. Do you know that fellow Malaysians spends approximately 153 hours (Fun, Pui “People in KL Waste 25 Minutes Daily Just To Look For Parking Spots, Study Shows.” World Of Buzz 3 December, 2017) year to look for parking? That is just such a waste of precious time right there!

Car owners face this problem almost every day of their lives. No wonder people always have such grumpy face every morning at work! There’s several other parking pet peeves that many of us just don’t talk about, maybe because it’s just that annoying.

Which of this few parking pet peeves have you dealt with?

1)      Arriving at your destination looking like a mess.

It’ll be a dream for every Malaysian driver if they’re able to find a parking spot that’s nearby their destination, right up front with covered pathway and AC please, thank you. Unfortunately, due to the high number of people working in the city, one can only wish. You’ll end up having to walk a distance under the screeching hot weather and arrive at your destination looking all greasy, sweaty and wet.

That is so not a good look if you’re going for a job interview or a big meeting.

2)      “Alamak! Where did I park ah?”

If your workplace is situated in a huge building or a mall, we’re sure that you’re no stranger to this line. Also, the fact that all carparks have the same look is just not helping. One solution for this is to snap a photo of your parking spot, but just, touch your heart and ask yourself, do you always remember to snap a photo of your parking spot each time you park your car?

3)      Horrible parkers. Horrible parkers anywhere.

A bad parker will usually end up either struggling to complete a reverse parking, end up scratching someone’s car by accident or taking two spots at the same time. This will cause other drivers to have to wait for a long time just so one driver to get in their parking spot or ruin someone’s day when they spot a scratch on their car. So, to all horrible parkers out there, take the initiative to improve your parking skills or find yourself a spot to park that will not cause trouble to other drivers.

4)      “Please exit within 15 minutes after payment.”

Each time a person reads that line after paying their parking ticket, it’s like they have to mentally prepare themselves to rush to their car and drive their way out. Not only that this is mentally challenging, it is also not safe for drivers who park quite a distance from the exit because clearly running around tight corners and with cars moving isn’t the safest thing to do. Why must the time limit be so short, we’re clearly not in the Temple Run world!
